Update to SSC's Reopening Plan

As a result of Governor Holcomb’s statewide mask order/mandate and updated recommendations from the CDC and Henry County Health Department, Shenandoah School Corporation has made the following updates and revisions to our 2020-2021 Reopening Plan.

Masks

Face coverings/masks will be required in schools for students in the third grade and above, faculty, staff, volunteers, visitors, and anyone else in schools or on the SSC campus.  Masks are also required for participants and spectators at co-curricular and extra-curricular activities with exceptions for strenuous physical activity.  The order will have exceptions for medical purposes, disabilities, exercising, and eating and drinking.  Breaks from masks will be given to students when social distancing can occur.  Masks are strongly suggested for children ages two to seven.

While some may have concerns about wearing a mask, the science tells us that they are a safe and powerful weapon to slow and stop the spread of COVID-19.

Protocol for COVID-19 Symptoms

The CDC has provided the following updates/revisions:

We're In this Together

While inconvenient, the strategies that we are implementing will allow our students, faculty, and staff to safely return to school.  We appreciate your partnership and support as we work together to ensure a safe start to the 2020-2021 school year.  If you have specific questions or concerns, please contact your student’s principal.  Contact information for each building can be found on the SSC Website.
