Pre-Kindergarten

Shenandoah School Corporation is excited to offer prekindergarten to our four year olds. Based on Indiana’s Early Learning Development Framework, we aim to provide high quality early learning experiences to prepare children for Kindergarten. Students who attend our prekindergarten will develop solid fundamentals in literacy, math, social emotional skills, as well as strong engagement in learning.

  • School day is 7:50am - 2:50pm

  • Bus Transportation available

  • The program will follow the Corporation Calendar

  • After school care is available until 6:00 p.m.

  • $50.00 per week (August-May) including lunch (fee may be discounted based on family income)

  • Space is limited to 20 students

  • $30.00 Non-Refundable registration fee due at time of enrollment

  • Child must be 4 years old by August 1, 2022.

Staffing

Little Raiders Prekindergarten is part of Shenandoah Elementary School, which includes a principal, assistant principal, guidance counselor, and full-time school nurse. A licensed prekindergarten teacher and a paraprofessional lead the classroom.   

Breakfast and Lunch

Students can purchase school breakfast or lunch - eligible families may qualify for free or reduced costs. Students can also choose to pack their own lunch. A snack will be provided to students.

Drop Off/Pick-Up

Prekindergarten students will be dropped off and picked up at the main entrance of the elementary school.

Application and Registration

The application period for 2022-2023 applications has closed.

Students accepted into the program will receive pre-k registration information on Friday, June 3rd via e-mail. The purpose of this initial registration is to reserve a spot and to provide the school and teacher important information.

All students who attend SSC must go through the school registration process. This typically occurs in mid-July and takes place online. Instructions will be e-mailed to parents.

2022-2023 Information

August 1 - Open House from 5:30-7:30 PM.

  • Visit the classroom, drop off supplies, and meet the teachers!

August 2 - Parent Meeting Day at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM

  • Plan to attend one of the meetings, if possible, without your preschooler. The meeting will include information about drop off and pick up procedures, as well as a chance to answer questions.

August 3 - First Day for Pre-K students
